Privacy Policy

Last updated October 23, 2026

The short version: Brainsmith has no ads, no accounts and no tracking. We only keep what the game needs to work: the name you type, the words you play and the games you're in.

What we collect

We don't ask for your email, phone number, contacts, location or photos, and we don't collect payment details.

What stays on your phone

Brainsmith saves a few things in your browser so it works smoothly: your name, the list of games you're in, whether sound is on, and whether you've seen How to Play. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Who handles the data

Games are stored with Google Firebase, which runs the game's database and the anonymous sign-in. The app itself is hosted on GitHub Pages, and its fonts come from Google Fonts. Like any website, these services can see basic technical details such as your IP address when your phone connects to them.

What we don't do

How we use it

Only to run the game: showing words to the players in your game, revealing rounds, and keeping your list of games. The creator may look at overall totals, like how many games were played in a day, to see how Brainsmith is doing.

Kids

Brainsmith is a family game, and kids play it with their families. It doesn't ask for any personal information beyond a first name or nickname. Parents, if you'd like your child's games removed, contact us and we'll delete them.

Keeping and deleting data

Game records are kept so you can come back to a game later. To have games you played in deleted, contact us with the game codes (or your name and roughly when you played) and we'll remove them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes, like adding paid features, will be explained here before they start.
